About Us

The New Mexico Patriots is a motorcycle-based organization formed in 2003. Our primary function is to promote veterans causes and participate in events toward that end, and to ride for those who can't: the over 58,000 KIA or MIA from Vietnam. This has included acting as honor guard at different ceremonies and organizing and participating in the dedication of the beams from the twin towers, riding to Angel Fire as part of the "Shadow of the Blade" Tribute, organizing and riding in three traveling wall events and participating in several "Support Your Troops" rallies. We have been asked to lead several patriotic parades, including the 4th of July parade in Corrales in 2003, in Los Lunas in 2004, the St. Patrick's Day Parade each year in Albuquerque, and the September 2007 9/11 parade in Belen. We donated a rose bush and have a plaque at the Albuquerque Veterans Memorial on Louisiana, in memory of our fallen and missing brothers. We have been approved by the IRS as a Non-Profit (501c7) Social Club. We support the Veterans Integration Center, providing clothing, food and assistance according to individual needs.

The New Mexico Patriots' main scheduled ride is in May to Washington DC for Rolling Thunder. Our goal is to get as many Vietnam era vets to the wall to promote the healing process. Those who are not able to make the ride to Washington DC participate in Memorial Day activities in either Albuquerque or Angel Fire. We sponsor a toy run in November of each year for the Belen Police Department and the Domestic Violence Shelter in Belen. We ride for as many of the Rio Grande Valley Toy Runs and surrounding counties as we can. We ride as often as possible as a group during the rest of the year, deciding on the destination as a group, usually at our monthly meeting.

Meetings

We normally meet on the third Saturday of every month at 9:00 am at Furr's Buffet on Wyoming just north of Indian School in Albuquerque. If the meeting is changed, the changes are posted on our guest book and/or on the "Upcoming Rides/Events" page.

Dues

First year dues will be the equivalent of the cost of a rocker, POW/MIA Patch and nametag. Subsequent annual dues will be twenty ($20.00) dollars per person or thirty ($30) dollars per married couple and $10 for each additional person in a family. Dues shall be payable on the anniversary of each member/couple being voted into the group. We take a collection (Pass-the-Hat) at each meeting for mailings, supplies and planned events or functions. NM Patriot T-shirts are also available for those who want to purchase them.

For more information or to receive a "Prospect Packet" please e-mail Tigger at BRE-TS@comcast.net.
